It passed a quite long time since I wrote the first post. Many days have been passed away and step by step the research is moving on. Just few issues need to be still fixed but we are almost ready to go. Meanwhile, I moved from Ningbo to Shenzhen (more details in the upcoming posts) and finally I can take part of the Campus Life of SUSTech University.

I was invited by the SUSTech Centre for Language Education to join the Qing Ming Festival on 5th April. It was very nice learn a bit more about the Chinese culture and habits in a such melting pot class composed by students and research staffs but also just people for different Countries (Malaysia, Korea, Pakistan, Russia, India…and Italy of course).

清明节 is a traditional Chinese festival, falling on between 4 and 6 April every year. This festival is a combination of different feelings: sadness and happiness. This is the day on which the Chinese families visit the tombs of their ancestors to clean it and make ritual offers like food, flowers and favourites of the dead. Then, they burn incense and paper money.

In contrast to the sadness, people also enjoy Spring on this day. The Qingming Festival falls in the period when the sun starts to shine brightly, trees and grass turn back green. This an awesome period to spend together time outdoor enjoying the nature and social activities.

People love to fly kites and we also had to try this activity. It was my first time to try to use a kite and understood it was quite harder than expected. Fortunately, the kite flight high with the necessary support. It was a very nice morning and I look forward to discover new Chinese traditions and activities.

再见
